If you’re like us and grew up in Utah as die hard coffee fans, you already know that The Salt Lake Roasting Company was one of Salt Lake’s first coffee roasters and coffee shops.  Last month they moved out of their old building on 300 east into a new location on 400 south and 820 East,

In the thirty plus years that they’ve been in business they’ve changed their downtown location twice but their last location on 300 east housed them for over two decades. The huge brick building with the red sandstone patio and walls hung with burlap coffee bean bags and maps of Utah was quintessential Salt Lake.  It was the place to go in Salt Lake for a rainy day retreat and has been a meeting place for college kids, old folks, young folks and everyone in between for over twenty years.  Over the past year they’ve been renovating the old Wasatch Pizza building just up the street on 820 east and 400 south in preparation to move locations and they are finally open!

The new location is like the a fresh, mini-version of the old space. It’s smaller than the old building but with the same signage, fresh aqua blue paint color and maps on the walls, it feels very familiar.

Check out this video that was posted on the Salt Lake Roasting Co’s Facebook page and you’ll see what we mean…
